On December 10, our postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Adrian Curtin, delivered a seminar at the Krembil Neuroimaging Rounds at Toronto Western Hospital. This forum gathers clinicians, neuroscientists, and imaging experts to discuss emerging technologies and methodologies in the field. Dr. Curtin’s presentation focused on the principles and clinical applications of functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), highlighting how this non-invasive, portable imaging technique can capture hemodynamic responses linked to brain activity. By outlining both foundational concepts and cutting-edge research, Dr. Curtin demonstrated how fNIRS holds promise for improving our understanding of neurological conditions and guiding more targeted treatment approaches. We congratulate Dr. Curtin on this successful engagement and look forward to the meaningful impact that their work will have on advancing neuroimaging science and clinical care.
